Post Easter and Hope for a Real Spring

I trust your Easter was fun and wonderful. WE had a busy time with friends, as none of our family reside in this state. Health good, but not enough exercise.
I baked 24 Cup Cakes, and so I would not eat them distributed them out to the neighbors. We have a couple of new families in the neighborhood and they have younger children 4-8. They loved the cupcakes and wrote me the cutest notes and thank you notes. One of the little ones decided I needed a reward and must have raided her mothers purse. She dropped in a $5 note, it was so cute. The mother was a little taken back when I returned the money and was grateful.
Children are so wonderful at that age, I also received other wonderful notes from the younger kids of a friend. It is nice to see the parents teaching the children the right thing to do and I feel blessed for it.
I am recovering nicely from my radiation and hope to be fully operation when we take a nice trip at the end of May.
When one ages, or becomes ill, the energy that one gets from having young people around is a wonderful thing.
Spring is a time of renewal and that is what I am trying to do to heal myself. I have been reading a wonderful new book, which I will chat about later, on how we sabotage ourselves into not believing we can heal ourselves. Takes a lot of work.
My flowers are starting to bloom despite the unusual frosty nights we have had, and I can only hope the fruit trees will show some fruit this year.
Well my friends have a great week and remember Mercury is coming out of Retrograde this week and a lot of the negative things will disappear. Let us pray for the victims of floods and tornado's in the Mid West. We have a lot to be thankful for.

HAPPY EASTER - SPRING RENEWAL

This is Easter week and many will celebrate and others will just eat chocolate bunnies and eggs and laugh and play.
Whatever your belief this is a time for renewal, it is Springtime, new beginnings and rejoicing.
These are my Easter treasures and it is so nice to leave the dreary winter behind.
My arm is healing but I did find the radiation affected one side of the arm much harder than the other. Where I put the oil religiously -Lavender- hardly any burn, where I did not a large burn area with swelling.
I am thankful that the disease can be stopped in its tracks and I will eventually return to a normal life that includes activity and fun.
I read this week of a lady with cancer, who seems to be in remission or at least not that active anymore, who had this dreaded disease come upon her 9 years ago. Well she fought thru it and conquered. Unfortunately she is holding resentments from 9 years ago. She is bitter and cannot let it go that a lot of her family did not rally around her in the hospital, or travel to see her. She has seen counselors but has no resolution. This is so sad as that dear soul has a choice to forgive or hold onto her angst. The relatives may have been wrong but one cannot hope to be happy and well when hanging on to resentments for that long.
It is not always easy to forgive but we are so much happier and healthier when we do.
We can even find joy in that act and pass it on. Bringing this up all the time only alienates the family more. I felt sorry for her but can only hope she realizes it is in her power to forgive and forget.
Often when cancer strikes a family, many friends and family members turn away. They cannot handle it and often react in very negative ways. This is not uncommon and I am sure nearly every cancer patient has had this experience. I would love to hear from you if it happened to you. Yes it happened to me but I just did not take much notice. As a nurse I have seen it in the extreme where husbands left their wife and little children, while the wife was in the hospital. God loves us all and forgives and we can take his healing spirit and do the same for others.
Have a happy Easter!!!!

Spring! Yes. Why Things Go Wrong

I am so happy to see some sunshine, a bit of warmth would be great.
Daffodils are blooming and soon the tulips, Trees are budding!
We have beautiful ponds and the water is dissapearing so we have to figure out why. We have had tons of rain and our groundwater is usually at high level. We have a wonderful array of wild geese, ducks and other water birds. We also do not want to have huge ugly holes in the ground and no water. We have beautiful waterfalls and even they are affected by the lowered water level.
I also have finished my radiation, and other than a burn on the arm am doing better; putting Lavender oil on the burn really helps and reduces the reddened area. I also take Ioderal to remove the excess radiation. What is not commonly known, radiation is cumulative, it keeps on working even after the radiation is stopped. I waited a week then it is time to rid the body of excess radiation that will not help me.
Every wonder why things seem to go wrong all at the same time. The car dies, the freezer breaks, and a lot of small inconveniences come down on you. We are ruled by the planets and they do affect how we feel and how much energy that can be negative, comes into our lives.
From March 30th 2011 to April 23rd 2011, Mercury will go Retrograde. This affects us more than we know, it can cause us to have things be out of sinc and we wonder why. I try not to make any big decisions in this period and not to travel. It does not mean we all will have something go wrong but if you are away of what is happening, you can take a deep breath and figure out why things are not working out. You and your family may see more disruption with each other at this time, take a moment to say wow! I will take a step back.
This can be a quiet time to meditate and contemplate where you are going in life. It is a good time to finish projects started and not taken to the end. You do not have to run and hide but understanding this time, we can help ourselves and family.
Have a great week.

Fellow MM Journey-Persons and Spring

Wisteria a lovely Spring flower but unfortunately not in this cold climate, this is my friends garden in CA. Does not like our colder climate.
Another week flown by and only one more radiation treatment on Monday, the evil Multiple Myeloma has been sent back to jail and I hope it stays behind lock and key. This radiation has not been too bad and I did not have to take the steroids. A slight radiation burn but Young Living Lavender has taken care of that. I apply it daily after treatment. The doctor told me that if something is added before treatment the radiation is more intense.
I still have my fractured radius but the pain is waaaay less. I have been reading my fellow Multiple Myeloma suffers blogs. Not everyone is having as easy as me. This disease is so insidious and so little is known about it.
Don't forget to visit my WEBSITE www.healingcancernaturally.net
Now this week Geraldine Ferraro passed on due to this disease, in many papers they said a "blood Cancer". Why because very few people know what this disease is all about. She fought it for 13 years which is pretty good. The life expectancy of MM patients used to be 3 years, with better diagnosis and some updated treatments, this life span has been greatly extended.

In my opinion, the hardest part of Multiple Myeloma, is getting a correct diagnosis. Often the doctors tell you that you are imagining this horrendous pain, or that it is a back problem, go take some advil. In many case, like mine, there are no or hardly any blood markers that show the disease is in you, thus you have to be nearly dead before they discover what is wrong with you.
I am what they call a non-secretor, which means that nothing shows up, till too late in the blood. Bone marrow tests are the only way, and in many cases they need to have one to show the disease really is present.
Many doctors have never been exposed to this disease and thus they just have an "off hand" manner is treating the ill. As the awareness increases, of this disease, the medical profession is waking up to the fact that for some reason this disease is spreading to a new group of subjects, namely young people.
This used to be a disease of 60 and over males and mostly of African American descent, not so anymore, young, old, women men are now showing up with this dreaded disease.
There is so much one can do to help oneself, this disease will return, so you have to start a daily regime of healthy living and strong supplements, to keep it away. Stem cell transplants, when they work, seem to give the younger patients, a much needed boost. The drugs help but are not the answer, so until they come up with a better plan it is best to be diligent in your own health and welfare.
Spring has finally arrived today, but tomorrow rain and cold, phew at least we had a couple of sunny days. My garden is calling, but need help to get it fixed, this one hand world is not working. WEll my friends I hope you see some lovely weather this weekend and be thankful for what you have.
